North World x3 - Lars Brown

The first two books of the North World series are the story of Conrad, who is young lad fighting mythical beasts to save the world.  The third book is a collection of short stories, connected to the characters of the first two books.

Why read - Since reading the Scott Pilgrim Series and enjoying it, I wanted to find similar things, and a friend happened to bring these home and I took the chance to read.

The first two books were amusing. We followed his story from this beast killer but living a normal(ish) life in the real world.  He comes back to his home town to kill the demon summoner and also to be a part of an ex's life where she has moved on and is engaged to someone else. I quite enjoyed the story plot for this, and the books were both engaging and amusing.  They had a slightly teenage edge to them but this made them easy to read and follow.  Only having the story over two books helped as you know its not a long series to get into.

The third book is full of short, mini comics, which was also rather enjoyable. Some stories being better than others.  Overall I enjoyed these three comic books. I think I preferred the Scott Pilgrim Series to this one, but i found it an easy and enjoyable read.
