Why Read - Before i left working in the library i gave a list of books I wanted to read to a friend, that i had not yet got round to reading. This was one of them, it looked interesting.
Although a teen book, I quite enjoyed this story. As i was reading it, two people mentioned they had read it before and also liked it. As a teen book you don't expect depth or hard reading, its very light, easy to read and amusing. The idea that the kid is an alien living in our world with superpowers, I think for a teen book was well done. Although in places this book got very childish with the romance and the ideology of superpowers, this was compensated by the rest of the book.
I found it amusing, easy to read and gripping. I found the storyline not too far fetched as you can imagine, and also can see it appealing to older teens and fans of the teen fiction genre. As an adult reading this book i didn't find the language or the content off putting and aimed too low. I found it an enjoyable read, the plot line easy and fun to follow and overall I did like this book.
