The 07.44 Train from Brighton to London, Carriages are packed with commuters. One occupies her time observing the people around, when she notices that the man opposite collapses, the train is stopped and an ambulance called. Then everything changes. A wife, loosing her husband. A friend helping her cope with the lose, whilst also putting up with someone who doesn't deserve the time, and a new friend who helps them both grieve.
Why Read - I have noticed this book a few times, adverts, recommended reads, and was given this book by a friend.
Nothing spectacular, I don't think this book was as good as people made it out to be. It was an interesting idea, the fact that one small thing can change the course of events. The story which brought the three girls together. However i don't think it was a great as it could have been. For me it was written like most other chick literature type novels. The characters personalities were distinct but lacked some depth. The plot line was interesting and kept me amused but didn't have any twists or turns.
The story was interesting, but i don't think the death at the beginning really made the story, more of a reason to bring the characters together but altering the start would not have affected the story much. It wasn't a tear jerker like i expected and i felt somewhat detached from the plot. We didn't really get much of an insight into the emotions of the character, just felt like we were going through the motions.
Its a good book to read, and does keep you entertained. But i don't think this is an extraordinary book or one you must read.
