The Choice – Susan Lewis

Nikki Grant is only twenty-one when she discovers she's pregnant. Despite her parents' disappointment and anger, she welcomes the news with joy. The baby will complete the happy home she shares with the man she adores, Spencer James. Baby Zac arrives and is perfect in every way. And with Spencer's career taking off they are ready to make the big move to London. And then, on a day like any other, Nikki suddenly finds her life turned upside down by tragedy. As she becomes evermore embroiled in a world she cannot escape, the love between Nikki and her son is put to the kind of test no mother should ever have to face...

Why Read – I have read previous Susan Lewis books and have enjoyed them, and was hoping this is on par as her other books.

Susan Lewis writes chick lit, but with more depth and a hint of thriller. Her books are great because they grip you to the end, but they are still really easy to get into, and enjoy. This one was exactly that, I couldn't put it down, was gripped to the end and really enjoyed reading it.

The story plot was a little predicable, but she threw in a few twists and curves to keep you from getting bored. One slight criticism of the story was the big 'secret' was a little over dramatic and felt very unrealistic and out of character of the rest of the book, I prefer something a little more realistic and that you could relate to.

Overall I enjoyed this book, I couldn't put it down and it made a great read. Its a good book to loose yourself in and easy enough to follow. Have got a few more Susan Lewis novels to read as she does write good books.
