Hell In Barbados - Terry Donaldson

Terry met with a success story early in his life, but his struggle with addiction soon becomes to much to handle.  Facing financial ruin he agrees to smuggle drugs into barbados but was caught and sent to one of the worlds worst prison's where he remained for three years.

Why Read - This book was lent to me by a friend, and this sort of book has interested me previously so i thought why not give this particular one a go.

This is one of those books that is fascinating because its a world that you would not normally hear about, and almost ignorant to the fact that that this type of world exists.  Unless you know someone with an addiction you don't really know exactly how their world works. This novel was very good at explaining and describing how bad drug addictions can be, and how easy it is for them to get locked into a situation where all they are after is their next fix.

The set up to this book was well written and gives a good explanation and insight into how he got into the situation he did. When he finally, inevitably lands in prison, he writes of the horrors that he faced in this dire situation. The style of writing of this book was very good, he is a very good story teller and keeps you gripped throughout the novel.  its a fascinating read, and well worth reading if you are interested in this type of real life story.
