Home. For most it's a place of calm and safety. For Lizzy Walter, things are a bit more complicated. Keeper House -- a cherished old place deep in the countryside -- has always been the heart of the Walter's universe. There, Lizzy can escape from her London life and ease her heart and mind. But trouble is on the horizon. For a start, her entire family are hiding something. Then the Love of Her Life makes an unexpected reappearance -- just when she thought she was starting to get over him. And now Keeper House itself is in peril. By the time the Walters gather for a summer wedding, the stakes have never been higher -- for Lizzy, for her family and for love!
Why Read - I usually have a handful of Chick Lit on my shelf for those moments where I have read enough non fiction or more thought provoking books and feel like i need a break and a chance to read something I don't really need to think about.
This is very typical Chick Lit story, it follows the same codes and conventions of the genre so its almost comforting knowing what to expect. Very predictable with a few twists and turns that you almost expect to be coming. What i did like about this particular book is that it was more focused on family than romance, which was refreshing. The plot was interesting, easy to get into and relatable. Her writing style was typical of the Chick Lit, easy to follow, slightly gripping and well rounded.
Its hard to say much more than this about this novel. It makes a great holiday read, good to get into without thinking about, and typical of its genre. Not the best book I have read in this category but nice all the same.
