Fifty Shades Darker - E L James

Daunted by the dark secrets of the tormented young entrepreneur Christian Grey, Ana Steele has broken off their relationship to start a new career with a US publishing house. But desire for Grey still dominates her every waking thought, and when he proposes a new arrangement, she cannot resist. Soon she is learning more about the harrowing past of her damaged, driven and demanding Fifty Shades than she ever thought possible. But while Grey wrestles with his inner demons, Ana must make the most important decision of her life. And it's a decision she can only make on her own...

This book is marginally better than the first, but it is still awful.  Its less of the strange 'romance' scenes, but it pretty much is one woman's awful idea of their fantasy but very much all in her head as their is no real conviction behind it.  The plot is basic, and the story very unrealistic, a little off putting and in some parts cringworthy to read.

Its the ideal that Ana is taming the beast that is Mr Grey, and in a very fairytale like fashion she is solving his world problems and fixing them magically with a bit of indigence in a very bizarre world.  Its almost puts a pathetic trait to women, that we are weak and can succumb to a mans every whim.

Oh and if i have to hear one more time about her 'inner goddess' which sounds more like an add for a Razor blade or hygiene product, urgh.

The book can't have been that good as three days later when I'm writing this review i barely remember the plot at all.  Despite that i properly will endure the third for reviewing purposes, but i really can't understand why everyone is hooked on such drivel and poor writing.
