I Miss Mummy

I Miss Mummy is the story of Alice, a four year old girl that comes to Cathy's home as her foster child.  She is well kept, well behaved and very sweet, not your obvious care child.  She doesn't understand why she can't stay with her grandparent's and nor does Cathy, it doesn't make sense.

Read - I have read most of Cathy's Glass's Story's and are always entrapped by them, this one is no exception. They are always well written, fascinating, gripping and insightful. I Miss Mummy is no exception, like the others I couldn't put this novel down and read it in one day.

Such a lovely story (albeit it slighty sad) we slowly find out the truth behind why Alice has ended up in care, and at times it almost moved me to tears. Despite the fact that natural events built up this story Cathy's writing style helps in building up the suspense and leading you to the conclusion.  She is probably one of the leading writers in her field and if you ever want to read about children being moved into care, her books are the best place to start.

Cathy invites you into her home and you follow the story of the children she has brought into care, as well as how social workers, and other outsiders all add to the story of one little girl. This book is gripping, beautiful and a little shocking.  Very very good.
